COMING UP

SUMMER SUNDAY FUN, 10:00 a.m.   [Sundays, June 15—July 13]
Kids 3-10: Please join us for five Sundays of Summer Sunday Fun, beginning June 15 at the 10:00 a.m. hour. Join us for art fun with some Scripture added too. Children aged 3-6 will meet in Room 4. Children aged 7-10 will meet in room 5. On July 6 and 13 children will be involved in a special project for VBS. Please see box below for items needed.

HELP US WITH OUR SAND CASTLE COLONY
On July 6 and 13, during Summer Sunday Fun, our children will be making Sand Castles for use during VBS. We need the following items:
           • Sea Glass
           • Sea Shells
           • Big Cardboard Boxes (the bigger the better)                      
           • Little Cardboard Boxes (shoe, Kleenex, Cereal, Oatmeal)
           • Tubes (paper towels, toilet, etc.)
Items can be brought to the church office any time.


NEWCOMERS’ RECEPTION , 4:00—5:00 p.m. [Sunday, June 22]
Wine, cheese and sparkling cider reception at the home of Fr. Charles Sacquety, 8402 Castilian in Huntington Beach. Children are welcome. Please RSVP to the church office at (714) 962-7512.

MEMBERSHIP CLASSES, 10:30 a.m. in Room 10 (for six weeks)   [Sundays, June 29-July 27]
St. Wilfrid’s will offer a Membership Class this summer for those seeking information about the Episcopal Church and our life at St. Wilfrid’s. The class will examine such areas as: worship, the Bible, Church history, Sacraments, and more. The six-session class is open to everyone: prospective new members, those seeking baptism, life-long Episcopalians. Childcare is available. The classes will be held on six consecutive Sunday mornings, beginning June 29, from 10:30 a.m. – 12:00 noon (those who normally attend the 11:00 Service are encouraged to attend one of the earlier services during these sessions). The Rev. Christy Dorn will lead the class. There is a nominal fee of $7.00 to cover the cost of book and materials. We will be using one text, Welcome to the Episcopal Church by Christopher L. VACATION BIBLE SCHOOL (VBS) IS COMING TO ST. WILFRID’S
                                July 30, 31 and August 1
                                        Save the Dates!
VBS this year will be three evening (instead of five), July 30, 31, and August 1 (Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday) from 5:30—8:30 p.m. The theme is Beach Party: Surfin’ Through the Scriptures. Volunteers are needed! Please see Rev. Christy if you can help.

CELEBRATION OF WISDOM NEWS by Paula Hulse
Our group will not meet in July and August. We will start back again on September 20. Future plans include a trip to the Crystal Cathedral in October (which Dave Shiffer is hoping to arrange for us). Please mark your calendar also for September16 when the Alzheimer’s guests will be here. God bless you and keep you safe during these summer months and during travel times.
