Worship at St. Wilfrid’s seeks to glorify God in ways that move the heart and mind with variety, color and reverence. All are included in the invitation to communion. Whoever you are and wherever you find yourself on the journey of faith, you are welcome to come to the table and to receive the bread and wine made holy
7:30 a.m. - A simple, early morning service in the chapel
8:45 a.m. - A traditional service with organ and choir
11:00 a.m. - A contemporary service with music led by a worship team
First and foremost, children of any age are welcomed into full participation in worship. For some, this means participating in the regular worship service along with their parents. We also recognize that in many cases children need special activities and designated spaces during worship. To accommodate special needs, a Hospitality Room is available with windowed access to the worship space. Childcare provided by a licenses nanny is available for the 8:45 and 11:00 services for babies and toddlers. In addition, the following age-appropriate worship opportunities are available:
During the 8:45 Service:
"The Word of God for Children," a worship experience in which children start the worship service with their parents. After the opening prayer, a catechist leads the children to their own space, where they engage with the readings of the day at their level. The children re-join their families just prior to Communion.
During the 10:10 Sunday School Hour:
Children up to the 3rd grade participate in "Catechesis of the Good Shepherd."
Fourth and fifth grades have their own Sunday School class.
Middle and High School participate in the Youth Group Sunday School.
During the 11:00 Service:
This is a more family oriented service, and children are encouraged to remain with their families. Younger children are also invited to join the Catechesis of the Good Shepherd class, which meets from 10:10 to 11:30.
